I have created an iPhone mount for iphone using very simple products list below is what I used to create it
Rubber iPhone case ($10 from walmart) can be found cheaper
Nylon screws( Flathead)and Nuts ($2 for 6 of each) I only used four
Stainless Steel nut( 1/4 thread)(25cent) I bought more then one case I messed up
Epoxy ($4) try to get the epoxy for plastic will bond better to plastic
Glue (all ready had) I used Gorilla glue for its strength
Spray paint(optional) depends on how professional want it to look.
Last but not least plastic tray from box iPhone comes in
I first started out with plastic from iphone box. I trimmed excess from edge to make it look more attractive doesn’t have to be done. Next , I lined up the Rubber case to find where I would need to place holes for the camera and the screws. I found that the case doesn’t find in straight in needs little bit of an angle to work, it depends on type of rubber case. The best rubber cases I found to work with this is the one’s that have a rubber cover for the home button it keeps the phone in better. After line up where you want to put the holes, you can drill it or just use a knife to make the holes. The next step after making holes in plastic tray is to pop holes in the rubber case can be fairly easy. Just use a need to get a pin hole and press the Nylon screws make sure to use flathead screws so that way it will set in flush. Place screws through holes and tight down with nuts. The next final step mold your epoxy against the plastic tray. To create a spot for SS nut to go in making sure not to press to hard because if you do the epoxy will go down into the nut. I personal placed just little bit of posterboard to keep it from doing that. After it all dries pretty much good to go. I got an epoxy that didn’t work well with the plastic so my epoxy mold fell on in my case I just used little bit of gorilla glue and it solved the problem. Last for better looks I told the set back apart painted my plastic tray mount with some spray paint make for plastic. Put the set back together. Great thing about this set up is fairly cheap, most things might already have around the house. Another great thing is I can use it on any tripod with a 1/4 thread. One last thing have acesss to all my buttons on iPhone and dock connect which allows me to plug in battery backup if I am shooting very long movie. More information just hit me up through email or I will be posted video of it later.
